SHOWBIZ SHOWDOWN

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT

I, as a rule,do not watch much t.v. unless it’s educational, I’m not into these so called “reality” shows, if I want to see reality, I turn on the news or watch documentaries of how people “survive” with what little they have.

Today I started surfing the channels and started watching
Showbiz tonight. I’m not attracted to these shows or any magazines talking about the stars but this one caught my eye. It was about stars and depression, and young starlets getting plastic surgery as young as 21.

When I was 18 I was offered to model for a well known Toronto modelling agency, but I declined. The reason being even then I knew what the industry was about, having to be “perfect”. If I had accepted I don’t know if I would have survived this long. It’s hard enough just to live a non famed everyday life of growing older or getting stretch marks or scars, I couldn’t imagine having to know my career would be over with any “abnormality” the industry would point out I had.

On showbiz tonight I learned how many of these women are turning to plastic surgery because of the pressures of a business that wants the world to perceive them as beauty but beauty from the outside being the most important trait.

It’s time Hollywood celebs start to become good role models and speaking out against plastic surgery instead of endorsing it, and the fact is not even their plastic surgery makes them happy, and why? Beauty only emanates from the inside, the aura that surrounds you from confidence of who you are and knowing the choices you make are made with moral ethics. It’s amazing how others see the beauty shine when your smile is genuine and not a Botox commercial.

The problem is getting worse because of HD coming out; even
Anderson Cooper from CNN spoke about this recently on Conan O’Brian. It picks up every flaw and let’s face it; everyone has what they consider a flaw but should be considered just part of you. Flaws come from the inside, not the out.

The dark side of comedy was another segment, how these funny people on the camera who are always smiling are the saddest people in Hollywood, and why?

I don’t know their personal struggles but I know if I couldn’t have my time without cameras in my face and reading crap about myself in every tabloid magazine. I’m the kind of person that likes my privacy but also loves to entertain but when I’m in the mood. Too many people in this world believe fame is the greatest life, but ask those like Brittany Spears or other stars that their life seems more ruined and depressing then fun. Sure money may be nice to have, but at what cost? When those struggling entertainers can’t make it in the business, to many young women are turning to pornography thinking this is the way to become famous. The problem is they don’t realize in the years to come, when they look back and see what they’ve done and was willing to do, it wasn’t worth it.

Stars and musicians have to start taking responsibility for the amount of depression they are actually putting out there, more then entertainment. They are so influential to young impressionable people and making these impressions seem like outside beauty and fame is the key to happiness. Their sexy videos, their overly sexual attitudes making young girls think if they don’t do sexual acts on boys or worse men, they are worth nothing to society.

When are the influential women of this world that have a voice, going to start speaking out against the phony attitudes of Hollywood and surgery and fame isn’t what it’s cracked up to be and the money doesn’t make happiness, inner peace makes happiness whether your financially well off or not.

How many mental ill people are in Hollywood and gone undiagnosed because they’re embarrassed or afraid they won’t get calls if they admit to their problems and try to help themselves. They feel shame because it’s taken from every tabloid magazines as being a downfall instead of the reason why they are creative and entertaining. They are afraid of their peers in Hollywood not inviting them to the “IN” parties because they are afraid of a “mentally ill” person.

So why don’t I watch much TV, I don’t need to watch these people who feel money and fame are the all that ends all. The only thing that ends all is the mentality of influential people who send the wrong message to those who pay their way…..the viewer.
